Today a Nissan 370z NISMO drove past me and it looked (and sounded) great. I'm a big fan, and I know the nismo's have a respectable performance level albeit the hefty weight for a Z.

They do have a lovely note. We used to have to work corners on our club track days, and I always enjoyed hearing the NISMO 370 up close. Working corners in between runs really wore us out, and took more time, but there are times I miss it.

A '78 280Z Black Pearl. And I live in Boulder. Imaginative, I know.

haha I dig the name, would make for a good vanity to plate. There's a 280z up the street from me, looks clean and rust free but it's just sitting. I want to approach the owner to buy it so bad..

It's not everyone's cup of tea, and to be honest it's hard to make sense of it... butI love my lady:

It's worth an ask. If it's really rust free (well... as much as any of them are...) it can't hurt. Be ready for anything in response, though. I find the people holding on to sitting Z's are often as weird as any of the American Iron hoarders. "That's rare! They only made the '75 for one year! I've had that since '80 and when I get around to fixin' it, she'll be worth $50k! She's worth $30k now!" That's actually based on a conversation my brother had with a Z hoarder in Seattle. There had to be at least 8 of the things wasting away on a little residential lot inside city limits. A sad waste, to be honest (the cars and the guy). However, if the owner isn't crazy and/or asking a crazy price, an S30 Z is exceptionally simple to work on, fix, and modify, including and especially the EFI ones if you ask me.
I thought about getting a vanity plate, but CO at the time didn't have vanity Collector plates, it was either/or. The Collector plates here let you emissions test once and then never again as long as you keep your registration current. That was very appealing to me, though I do keep it in excellent tune and running cleanly.

Lovely car. I used to drive by a sad looking Nismo parked at a Nissan lot forever. It was surrounded by Juke's and Versa's just begging to be taken for a spin... :(

Don't be ashamed, that's on my list for the next car I buy.
